Hello, Poznan

It's 20:30 local time (you know, it's euro to use 24 hour time) and the kid is asleep and the parents still awake! I'll say this - It's quite nice to drive into Poznan and know where we're going! I found our flat on the first try! And I believe I used the roundabout correctly today.
A quick recap of our journey to Poland: Flights across the country and then across the ocean are boring. And when you exit the aircraft and look at the seats in first class, twinges of jealousy become rather powerful. But - Madeline made friends with a flight attendant, and helped lock food service carts and clean up the galley. Fast friends now, the flight attendant arranged for a shout out from the first officer as he welcomed the flight to Berlin ("...weather is rainy, flight is almost done, special welcome to Madeline..."). AND, she was invited to the cockpit to say hello to the pilot....

And power down the airplane's electric power after they plugged into shore power.

Of course, all this work on the airplane might make you tired.
It was a beautiful drive to Poznan - reminds me of central Washington with lots of trees, fields, and tractors. We have a Fiat 500L, which sounds cute. Unless it's running and then it sounds like a go cart. It's a new fangled "Twin Air" motor with 104 horses that sip petrol. Really? Autobahns with 104 horses? I'm a bit dismayed.

So, if you haven't read previous entries, there always seem to be shananigans with the flat. You'll no doubt be pleased to know that most of the trash and rubble is gone from the terrace. There is no A/C. Nobody staying here actually believed there would be. The kitchen is a nice, modern looking place. I did open the freezer (bottom door on the left) to an interesting spectacle today, though. Where's my grandfather when I need him?

We do like our flat. Really.
Here are some pics from outside the building. Looking towards the lovely ladies, our flat is up (2nd floor) on the right. We look down on those pine trees planted in the courtyard.

More later!

Anticipation

We've been talking about our return to the flat at Katowice. Burning questions: new PR info lists air conditioning. Will this be true? Will the same pile of rubble be on the patio?
